“I won this raffle of a pair of Jordan 1’s that I absolutely love. When thinking of it the Jordan 1’s have always been one of my favorite sneaker ever designed. It took me a month and several failed attempts before I finally was happy with “AIR”. I wanted to embody the aesthetics from 84’ and the cult symbol it’s become today. I needed to paint my interpretation to honor its impact on my life ever since I was a kid growing up in Valencia.”

About the artist
Artist Michael Hartfelder is an enthusiastic representative of the new avant-garde in Pop art, working with minimalist and sometimes surreal depictions of celebrities, places and cultures. He brings all these elements to the canvas, with mostly geometric and reduced forms were the motifs impress with their bright colors and his trademark, the striped background, can be found again and again.
For over 20 years I have been visiting Japan regularly 2-3 times a year, and that is how I came into contact with Sharaku and Hokusai. I was so impressed by the woodblock prints that I bought some for my own collection. Especially in the Corona period, when I can't travel, I miss Japanese culture.Sharaku is the third woodblock image I have created in my minimal Pop Art design. The colours used make it look highly modern and yet timeless.

Damien Hirst rose to prominence in late 1980s London and is considered one of the most notorious artists of his generation. He has pushed the limits of fine art and good taste with sculptures that comprise dead animals submerged in formaldehyde; innumerable spot paintings that appear mass-produced and can sell for millions of dollars; and the exuberantly tacky For the Love of God (2007), a human skull studded with 8,601 diamonds. Through his installations, sculptures, drawings, and paintings, Hirst explores themes including religion, mortality, and desire. Since 1988, when the artist developed and curated “Freeze,” a groundbreaking exhibition of his work and that of his Goldsmiths College peers, he has been the subject of major shows at Tate Modern in London, the National Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C., and the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam.
