GL x Studio Oyama

Our collaboration with Studio Oyama sits at the intersection of Japanese and Swedish culture. Reimagining our Spläsh backpack in Masayoshi Oya's distinctive graphic style, we created a limited-edition piece that combined the best of our contemporary functionality with the playful, striking artwork of the ceramicist.

Originally from Tokyo, artist Masayoshi Oya studied at Capellagården on Öland, Sweden and is now based in Gothenburg. Oya hand-works clay on his potter’s wheel to create a porcelain canvas. When painting each piece, he uses expressive techniques and allows the glazes to naturally take shape on the surface, creating a unique balance between form and design.

Based on our best-selling Spläsh backpack, our GL X Studio Oyama design is crafted from premium waterproof material and features two iconic artworks from Masayoshi Oya — Melerad Grönvall in beige and Folkdräckter in black and white. Its signature roll-top flap allows you to expand and compress the already spacious bag, while the roomy interior holds plenty of essentials, including laptops up to 16.
