Dubbed ‘First Light’ and ‘Last Legs’ the photo series explores the topic of desirability across various stages of wear and tear on a shoe. Deeply rooted in both basketball and the accompanying sneaker culture, BEASTIN has worked with long-time friend of the family Filip Gorski. A former basketball player himself, the autodidact photo- and videographer has captured some of the most sought-after silhouettes within the culture, each in its own unique setting.

In the heart of Paris, on the 9th arondissement, there was an abandoned parking lot for many years. Stephane Ashpool and Pigalle gave this plot of land, which was mostly used by homeless and drug addicts, a cultural rejuvenation. Today, 10 years after, 5 court designs orchestrated it has become an oasis for pickup basketball and the local youth.
