Mankovsky Gallery has teamed up with Munich-based lifestyle retailer BSTN.com and its label BEASTIN for a limited-edition print run featuring two exclusive artworks drawn from the label’s premium sportswear imagery. Titled First Light and Last Legs, the photo series explores desirability across different stages of wear and tear on a shoe. Deeply rooted in basketball and sneaker culture, BEASTIN collaborated with longtime family friend Filip Gorski. A former basketball player, the self-taught photo and video artist has captured some of the most sought-after silhouettes in the culture, each placed in a distinct setting.

The original drawing took 469 hours over 4 months to draw in ballpoint pen during the London lockdown of 2021. It's based on a very rare photo of Steve McQueen that he scaled up by many times the size to create the intricate close up of the icon. The original painting “McQueen Vision” sold for 17,000 EUR to a private collector via James Mylnes Portuguese fine art gallery partner in the autumn of 2021.
