I bought this bag from a store in Bangkok. It took a single rain shower on my second day using this bag to ruin my books and notebook. Thankfully I wasn't carrying any electronics. I'm not sure where the water entered since most of the bag "looks" waterproof. I suspect it's either the lining of the water bottle pocket, which is of a different material, or this zipper above the front pocket that looks tailor made to become a pool of water. Pictured of the bag and at least $50 of ruined school supplies attached.

I was looking for a waterproof backpack and purchased this one, but it turned out to be disappointing. The shoulder straps on this backpack are made of a seatbelt-like material and have no cushioning whatsoever. When I use it with a laptop or book inside, my shoulders hurt. Also, the part of the shoulder strap that goes around the armpits is folded in a strange way, so it digs into my flesh and causes pain. The day after it arrived, I ordered a backpack from another brand.
